Joy in the Journey, Donation Matching, and Home Study Updates, Oh My!

JOY IN THE JOURNEY
Please join us on Saturday, November 5th at 4:00 pm for a musical night of worship.  We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall of Central Schwenkfelder Church.  Our night of music will begin with a set from the band Harney.  You can visit their Facebook page at this link to learn more about the band members and upcoming events: Harney  We will also enjoy some praise music played by Central Worship.  A band comprised of praise team members from Central Schwenkfelder.  Sam and Steph will also be sharing some information about their adoption journey, China adoptions, and how you can be involved.  A love offering will be taken and all donations will go towards the adoption of our daughter Jiao.  Light refreshments will be served after the event and free childcare will be provided for all children under 5.  We hope you can join us for what will certainly be an awesome night!

DONATION MATCHING
Another exciting fundraiser that we have begun is donation matching.  A very generous sponsor has agreed to match any donations given between Oct. 1st and Dec. 31st up to $3000!  Any donations that are received, not including those given at Joy in the Journey, will be matched up to $3000!!!!  So that means if you donate $50, a matching donation of $50 will also be given to us!

HOMESTUDY UPDATE
We've completed one of our home study interviews and have two more to go.  Our first interview lasted about 1.5 hours and included questions about our family life, our marriage, our parenting philosophies, our knowledge of adoption, kids from hard places, and special needs.  There were a lot of tough questions and providing transparency and honesty were the goals.  Our next round of interviews are on Monday, October 3rd.  At that interview, Sam and I will be interviewed separately and will be asked questions about our family background, childhood, education, etc.  Our last interview is on Tuesday, October 11th and that will be our house safety check.  Once that third interview is completed, it will take about a month to receive our home study report and hopefully we'll be approved to move on to the next step of the process!
