The Aftermath (It's all good in the hood!)

Gah!  I just read my last post and it said updates would come later that week...oops!

Life with a newborn is CRAAAAAZZZZZYY!  We've learned so much in the past two months! Before I bring you up to date, here are some highlights:

1. Wes is two months old.  He's laughing, smiling, cooing, holding his head up, hating tummy time, and starting to settle into a routine.
2. Remi gives us a mean stink eye when he starts to cry and we don't immediately go to him.
3. Who knew there were so many forms of poop???  I'm glad I've been picking up dog poop for the last few years, even though there's really nothing that can prepare you for diapers.
4. I've always been one of those 8-10 hours a night of sleep people....but, no more.  Sleep be gone.
5. I am SO GLAD that I finally have an excuse for having dirty dishes and wrinkled clothes...snuggle time in the morning before work and all evening is a must.

So, what's going on with the adoption???  Well, it's not complete yet!  After Wes was placed with us, we have to complete three post placement adoption visits.  During these visits, our case manager comes to our house, takes a look around, and asks us a series of questions about Wes' development, how he's adjusted, how we've adjusted, and to make sure everything is going ok.  So far, we've had two of these visits and will be scheduling the third for sometime in April.  All of the information is put into a report and filed with the court.

Along with the post placement visits, we've been filling out paperwork for the Court of Common Pleas in Berks County, the Orphan's Court Division.  This is the official paperwork through which we will petition the court so that we can officially become Wes' parents.  I believe at this point, we'll also receive his birth certificate, his social security number, and any other pertinent information.  Can't wait for that day!

Prayer Requests:
1. Please continue to pray for Wes' birth parents.  We are sending them monthly updates and pictures of Wes so that they can continue to track his development and be a part of his life.
2. Pray for the remaining post placement visit and paperwork that needs to be filed.
3. Pray for Sam, Wes, and I as we continue to forge our new family unit and realign our lives in regards to work time, family time, and us time.
