We've Gone....Paperless!!!!

You know those pop-up ads that you get from credit card companies asking you to "go paperless" and do away with receiving your bills via snail mail?  I'm one of those people that always clicks "No Thanks".  I know, prolly not the best option for going green, but I'm also one of those people that prefers paper books over my Kindle app.  For some reason, I always seem to forget things if I can't hold onto it.

Well, this kind of "paperless" is welcomed with wide, open armsWe are past the "paper stage" of the adoption (at least, for now).  Our profile book is being handed out to potential birth families as we speak, the grant applications are complete, and we're receiving emails with details about birth families giving a child up for adoption from all over the US.

I've never wanted a giant bowl filled with a super premium ice cream, topped with everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink, sundae in my entire life.  Oh, the stress!  When an email is sent to us from the adoption agency, we get a chance to review information about the birth mom and birth dad (if available).  They give us details about the remaining costs for that particular adoption as well as medical history and intake forms for each parent.  But, then, at the very end of the email there's a little line with a "due date" for when we need to have our information to the agency if we want to be considered.  Here's an example- we got an email at 4 pm on Wednesday night and we needed to have our info to the agency by 9 AM Thursday morning.  Talk about a quick turn around time!  Bah...how do you make a decision of this magnitude that quickly?????  Like I said....bring on that sundae!

Prayer Requests:
  • Discernment, Discernment, Discernment--
    • how do we know which birth family is going to be a good match for us?
    • how do we handle these emails?  Jump in with two feet, wait for the PERFECT one, or try a couple here and there as they come in?
  • Finances--it's all about the money.  Pray that the grant applications would come back approved and would help to provide the last bit of support we need.
  • We've gotta start prepping for a baby--holy smokes Batman, what do we do?
  • Pray that my waistline makes it through in tact : )  Maybe instead of super premium ice cream I'll go with the light stuff!
